Gabriel might be more well known, but these tracks are perhaps Roy’s best work featuring this type of sound (check out his record “about love” on Bombay too if you dig this). the music is beyond soulful; it’s extraordinarily beautiful & timeless.

Edited 14 years agoWonderful 4-tracks (or "songs" would be more appropriate here) EP that showcases ideally Roy Davis Jr's particular talent, one of the closest house music ever got to lush disco-soul with falsetto voice a la Curtis Mayfield. Standout tune in my opinion is " The Day", with creamy/lush/aerial atmosphere pushed to the max, yet remaining on the acceptable side of cheesy. One for summer rooftop convertible drives then.

Edited 14 years agoOne of Roy Davis Jr's best and most-underrated records. Contains the original version of the very beautiful "Michael". Soulful in the truest sense of the word.
