Alanis Morissette – Under Rug Swept

The Canadian singer Alanis Morissette was born in Ottawa in 1974. After being in own country had had an unsatisfactory career as a teen star, she made in 1995 under the direction of producer Glen Ballard a new start. The aggressive, man-unfriendly single You Oughta Know was a great success, as well as the album Jagged Little Pill. After this followed the less accessible albums Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (1998) and MTV Unplugged (1999). Appeared in early 2002, after a relatively long silence, the single Hands Clean. This song sounded instantly familiar, and so is the whole album that the uncomfortable title Under Rug Swept. Compared to Jagged Little Pill, there are few differences to discover, or it must be that this album for the first time by Morissette itself produced. Also lyrically is all the same and so we are faced with the necessary failed relationships and bad ex-boyfriends. The most notable songs on this album are typical Alanis-as far as we are concerned the listed single Hands Clean, Narcissus, So Unsexy and Elton John-like ballad That Particular Time.
