Awesome San Francisco psych. I bought a 1st press still in shrink and it doesn't sound good. Based on other comments it's a bad, noisy and muddled pressing. I think the source material is bad because the digital copies sound bad too.

Came across a copy of this version sealed recently. Two drill holes thru everything but perfect otherwise. Fairly muddy for sure, and quite glassy at other times, I think I can understand where others are coming from. That being said it’s very enjoyable and worth grabbing in my opinion.

I have a decent copy. Decent lows and mids. Do not see the others negatives, but maybe a remaster might be better. Buy I'm OK with my OC. Sounds like a cross between Blue Magoos and P G &E with a splash of Fever Tree.

Edited 8 years agoIf you're looking for some off-the-beaten-path psych that's affordable, this record is a great option. Recorded in '68, it has that early psych feeling of Mercury labelmates like Blues Magoos, but hints at something deeper on the horizon. Recommended.

Edited 7 years agoAnybody who claims that vinyl has better soundquality than CDs should listen to this record. I collected records for almost 15 years, which meant that I've listened to probably 3,000 vinyl records including the ones I've sold. If you leave out the ones in poor condition and only count the ones in nice condition, this album by Linn County is a great contender to being the worst sounding vinyl album I have ever heard!
