The 2020 Grammys...all of em...were stolen from this band. This album carries the healing from the Pandemic with it. Pick it up.

This review is based on my listening experience using a custom built U-Turn Orbit turntable with a built in Pluto amplifier & a Ortofon 2M Red cartridge paired with Edifier R2000db powered speakers.
I’m not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination but I’m an aspiring one.
The pressing, in my experience, has been surprisingly impressive. I have the cream colored vinyl but the sound holds it’s weight. It’s not as flawless as my Blue Note Tone Poet or 80th reissues, that’s my bar for measurement, but it’s good!
As for the music, this is a brilliant, inspired album. The poetry & storytelling is vivid. The melodies & sonic experience is captivating.
I get nauseated anytime I think too long about the fact that Black Pumas lost their Grammy’s bid in 2020 for Best New Artist to Billie Eillish. I’m not knocking Billie, she’s cool. But the artistry on this record is pure, organic, & inspiring. How did they not win?!
But I digress... this is a must have! -
Seems like there's a mixed bag with this pressing. But let me tell you, a good copy of this pressing is GOOD. Musically, it's a great album, and the copy of this pressing that I have is phenomenal. I think I had two clicks during the entire thing, super low noise floor. It looks absolutely beautiful spinning, The pictures online do not do it justice.

Not perfectly quiet as others have mentioned but man this sounds good. A great feeling of space in the recording.

I love this album musically, but not a fan of this pressing. There’s an obvious whooshing noise on the entire run-in and lots of crackles and pops during playback. I’ve washed the album multiple times and always remove any static charge before placing it on the platter, but I’ve finally come to conclusion that this is a just low quality pressing. It’s a shame, because this an amazing album. I guess I’m back to the digital copy for now.
